Chinatown Sketchbook by Joung Ju

12 Weeks in Chinatown
What I had heard about Chinatown after 911 was that there were some businesses that went down because of no road access to the stores and restaurants. Most of the non-touristy areas were closed off, and all bridge access was shut, thus preventing any commerce. For months, people have been cut off from the whole disaster to even get aid. No one even bothered to call this area a "disaster zone" until a few months later, when President Bush saw the weakening community, and finally declared it as such.
